RightWisconsin Editor James Wigderson was on WTAQ on Thursday to talk to host Jerry Bader regarding Club for Growth’s criticisms of state Senator Leah Vukmir (R-Brookfield) for voting for Governor Scott Walker’s budgets in 2011 and 2015.
“It was stunning to see them criticize Scott Walker’s very first budget as governor, then the 2015 budget bill as well,” Wigderson said. “Both of which actually lowered taxes for Wisconsinites. And I’m sure every Wisconsinite remembers the 2011 debates with the protesters at the Capitol, Act 10, the whole bit. It just really struck me as, really? Club for Growth is going to criticize Leah Vukmir for standing up with Scott Walker on those two votes?”
On Kevin Nicholson’s silence:
“It’s one thing if Nicholson’s campaign doesn’t want to respond to whether Vukmir is a RINO and the name-calling,” Wigderson said. “I get that. They want to stay out of it.”
“But the Club for Growth is saying there was a specific criteria used to judge Leah Vukmir’s record and they said that the 2011 budget bill and the 2015 budget bill were points number one and number two against her,” Wigderson said. “And yet Nicholson’s campaign just couldn’t bring themselves to say, hey we’re going to disagree with them on that. We think what Governor Scott Walker did in 2011 and 2015 was great for Wisconsin. We’re just going to have to agree to disagree with Club for Growth.”
