[Madison, Wisc…] On Monday night outside the Wisconsin Capitol, liberal journalist John Nichols vowed to wipe conservatives out of Wisconsin history books and laid out his vision for a progressive utopia in the state. Around a thousand protestors had gathered in opposition to the state legislature’s extraordinary session.
Nichols writes for the Nation and the Capital Times. He was one of several speakers at the rally.
They planned to swarm the capitol with thousands of protesters the next day during the Assembly and Senate floor sessions. Those crowds never materialized, and Monday night proved to be the high water mark for the week’s protests.
